Overview
The Bluebell Plant is a beautiful tropical marginal pond plant that provides wonderful visual interest throughout the pond season. Featuring beautiful dark blue/green foliage, the Bluebell Plant is a prolific bloomer that produces charming petunia-like flowers throughout the summer growing season. The Bluebell Plant demonstrates a low mounding growth habit making it a great plant to soften rockwork and other hardscape with lovely greenery. The Bluebell Plant will typically form a mound that is 12" wide and grows to a height of 18". However, in favorable conditions the Bluebell Plants can grow larger.
The Bluebell Plant is a highly accommodating plant that can thrive in a wide variety of planting conditions. The Bluebell Plant can be located immersed in water, at the water's edge, or even away from your pond completely and used as a border plant in conventional landscape applications. When planting the Bluebell Plant immersed in water, pot the Bluebell Plant in a 1 to 2-gallon planting container and set the planter in your pond so it is covered by at least 3 inches of water. The Bluebell Plant is not picky about lighting conditions and can thrive in partial shade or sunny conditions. Zones 9-11.
