Overview

The Nano Polyp Pack is a combination of various colors and species of polyps, which are well suited for a small reef aquarium, such as the Nano Cube. By incorporating multiple Nano packs you can create a diverse reef setting in a small aquarium.

These polyps have the ability to sting other polyps or corals. While the sting is not strong, they are semi-aggressive and need to have space between their colony and any neighbors since they tend to crowd them out. They are easy to maintain, making them a good choice for beginner reef aquarists. They require a moderate light level combined with a medium water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, they will also require the addition of iodine and other trace elements to the water.

They will reproduce easily in the reef aquarium by budding (splitting off a portion of their base or mouth), which will increase the size of their colony. They contain the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which provide almost all of their nutritional requirements. Especially if the lighting is not optimal, they should be fed micro-plankton or baby brine shrimp.

It is common to receive a rock that is not completely covered in polyps. However, under the right conditions, they will quickly spread across this and surrounding rocks in the aquarium.

Each pack consists of a mix of 5 different polyp rocks. This can be a combination of Zoanthus and Star Polyp. Depending on availability, we will mix the colors and species of the polyps on each of the 5 rocks. When ordering more than 1 pack, we will provide a variety of colors to help you in creating a diverse nano reef aquarium.

Approximate Purchase Size: 1" to 2" per rock

I ordered the Nano Polyp Pack expecting to get only 1-2" of polyps covering the rock, the rock came in almost 4-5" covered in polyps for every speciman! I am VERY pleased with the variety they gave me. I will be sure to make many more purchases!

I have ordered these Polyps on two different occasions and have been very pleased with what you guys sent me. They are very colorful and very fast growing. Lots of different color variaties each time. I especially liked the bright orange ones that I received in my last order. They have actually doubled in size in the two months I have had them. Thank you Drs. Foster and Smith.

I was super excited when they arrived...They opened in less than 2 hours after putting them in my reef tank. It's been a month now and they have already started to spread!!
