Overview

The Silver Zebra Angel is Captive-Bred in the USA and is mostly silver in color with stripes of black/brown. The fins are thin and typically, will extend the length of the body.

It prefers a well-planted tank of at least 30 gallons with soft, slightly acidic water. Rocks and driftwood can be added to the aquarium, but leave plenty of space for swimming.

It is best, when trying to breed the Silver Zebra Angel, to house a number of angels in the same aquarium until they pair off. After a pair has developed, a flat surface needs to be provided where the eggs can be laid. A piece of slate, a large plant leaf, or even a flowerpot should be positioned at an angle of about 30 degrees in an area of moderate water flow. The female will lay the eggs and the male will follow behind to fertilize. After approximately three days, the eggs will hatch and the fry will emerge. Feed the fry newly hatched brine shrimp until large enough to accept crushed flake food.

The Silver Zebra Angel needs to be fed a variety of foods including vegetables as well as meaty foods. Feed a quality flake food as well as live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms.

Freshwater Angelfish are measured at TL (Total Length) which means your fish will be measured from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail.

Approximate Purchase Size: 1/2" to 2-1/2"

I love my zebra angels. I have had them for 5+ years. Had a breeding pair. Recently lost the male. What sweet hearts. In a community tank, no problem with other tank mates. Get's a little territorial when egg laying. A joy.

I have one of these fish, and she is an excellent addition to my 30 gallon. She gets along very well with her tankmates (tetras, a platy, otos, a female betta, and a red tail shark). I have had her for a year, and she is three inches long and as beautiful and peaceful as she was when purchased. I highly recommend this fish to anyone with the right size tank and fish that will not nip at it.

My Zebra Angel Is The Boss Of My 55 Gallon Cichlid Aquarium. Once, I Added A Siamese Alge Eater. The Fish Tried To Hurt My Angel And My Angel Killed It... Like I Said The Boss

Extremly graceful fish. I have only had her for a day but she is doing fine. It had been so long since I had one I had almost forgot their beauty. She gets along fine with her tank mates: Two Kuhlii Loachs, one Yoyo Loach, a Zebra Danio, a Serpay Tetra and a Peppered Cory Cat. Great fish.

I just received my Three Silver Zebra Angelfish, 2 days ago, and they are thriving, beautiful, and full of life. Actually, they were full of energy when I put them in my tank from the mailbox. The picture does not do them justice, mine are absolutely stunning with vibrant black/dark stripes, I thought it was an Altum(sp?), at first glance. Great Fish, Great Fast Delivery, I ordered them Monday and by 9am Tuesday they were on my doorstep, from CA to VA, Now THAT'S Service! Thank You LiveAquaria. -Mike H, Customer for Life
