Overview

The Melini Corydoras Catfish, otherwise known as the False Bandit Cory is a handsome Corydoras Catfish with bold, graphic markings that originates from the Upper Negro and Meta River basins. The Melini Corydoras Catfish lives in small schools in the inhabiting pristine slower-moving blackwater tributaries.

A well-filtered, established aquarium of at least 30 gallons in size with a soft, sandy substrate provides a great home for the Melini Corydoras Catfish. Avoid substrate with rough edges to prevent the sensitive barbels of the catfish from becoming irritated. Aquascape the aquarium with plants, smooth edged rocks and driftwood while leaving open spaces and areas for the catfish to swim. They enjoy being in numbers, so a small school of six or more Melini Corydoras Catfish is ideal.

Melini Corydoras Catfish are foraging omnivores and require a well-balanced diet including quality flake food and pellets along with frozen/thawed blood worms, brine shrimp and mysis shrimp for adult specimens.
