Overview

The Glowlight Danio is a brightly colored and showy cousin of the popular Zebra Danio. A relative newcomer to the aquarium hobby, this beautiful fish is adorned with bars, stripes, and spots in radiant green, gold, red, and turquoise. This slender-bodied and active schooling fish is an ideal choice if you wish to add motion and beauty to the freshwater community aquarium.

Native to streams and pools, the Glowlight Danio does well with other Danio species and other peaceful fish of similar size. This fish will be very active when kept in a school of six or more individuals. The Glowlight Danio prefers a planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space available.

Glowlight Danios scatter their eggs in shallow water over a substrate of coarse gravel. A well-planted tank may help induce breeding in this shy fish. After hatching, usually within 36 hours after spawning, the fry should be fed fine pieces of live foods.

Glowlight Danios are omnivores and should be fed a diet of flake foods with plenty of vegetable matter, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex.

This is a very active and aptly named schooling fish. I would suggest having only dark colored plants and substrate to get the most out of their appearance.

The photo shown doesn't do these fish justice. I googled them before purchase and saw other photos of how pretty they really were. These are beautiful and active fish in my aquarium. Great little fish to add some color for a reasonable price.
