Overview

The Axelrod Rasbora is a peaceful, active, schooling fish. This fish is one of the more brilliantly colored species of the genus, especially the male.

Rasbora axelrodi needs a well-established, densely-planted aquarium with plenty of free swimming space available. This species does well in a community aquarium with other peaceful and similarly-sized species.

Unfortunately, the Axelrod Rasbora's breeding habits in the aquarium have not been documented.

An omnivore, this Rasbora does well on a diet of prepared flake food, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex.

Customer Testimonials

Harrison Baer San Francisco , CA
Still loving these rare, remarkable fish. The males do croak quite often, audible if room and equipment are quiet enough. Recently re-catalouged as Sundadanionidae. If anyone has succesfully documented breeding habits, please reach out to me thru LiveAquaria.

Note the scientific name is Sundadanio Axelrodi, and this is not a Raspbora. They are beautiful fish.
