Set up Instructions:
- Consider where you are going to place the aquarium. Keep it away from direct light areas with large temperature fluctuations.
- Place the aquarium on a flat level surface strong enough to support its weight and that of the water to be added (a strong cabinet is recommended).
- Rinse the aquarium and substrate to be used. Do not use soap or detergents as they may be harmful to fish.
- Place the rinsed gravel or substrate into the tank and then set up your desired décor and plants.
- Install filter per instructions found in the Operating Manual.
- Carefully fill aquarium with water, making sure not to disturb the contents.
- Do not introduce tap water into your aquarium. Water going into freshwater aquariums has to be conditioned to remove chlorine.
- Press the sensor switch to turn on the light.
Acclimation of Aquatic Life:
Introduce specimens into your new aquarium using the LiveAquaria® Step-by-Step Acclimation & Planting Guides.
Maintaining your Aquarium:
To ensure the wellbeing of aquarium inhabitants, it is essential to maintain your aquarium. At the very minimum, perform water changes. Remove 20% of the water once a week and replace with fresh water that is of similar temperature to your tank (with chlorine removed if tap water is used).
Change the filter media every two weeks minimally, or more frequently if needed, following the directions in the Operating Manual.
Lighting: LED lighting has a very long life and does not have to be changed frequently. However, when it does need to be changed, refer to the instructions in the Operating Manual.
