Transform your reef aquarium landscape into a living tapestry full of interesting texture, color, and movement with greater ease and savings. Great for both novice and advanced reef aquarists, the Premium Polyp Maricultured 3 Pack includes three lovely polyp corals at one great package price! This convenient and budget-friendly package deal is a fantastic option for filling empty reef aquarium landscapes with lively movement and color.
The maricultured corals are propagated from small cuttings of corals growing in their natural habitat. The cuttings or fragments are mounted to a base and are then allowed to grow out in protected inshore areas for several months. Once they are ready for sale, the maricultured corals are shipped to the United States, where they are then conditioned and adjusted to artificial lighting and synthetic seawater prior to shipping to your door.
The corals included in the Premium Maricultured Polyp 3 Pack can thrive under moderate lighting conditions achieved by T-5 fluorescent, powerful LEDs, or the more intense metal halide light fixtures. While not as demanding as small polyp stony (SPS) corals, it is still imperative to maintain high water quality ensuring proper pH, alkalinity, and calcium levels, while keeping phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. Along with proper lighting and water quality, the premium maricultured Polyp Corals will benefit from medium, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This can be easily achieved with the addition of powerheads, wavemakers, or water circulation pumps. Be sure to provide adequate space between other corals in the reef aquarium to prevent any potential aggression.
The photosynthetic symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within the premium maricultured Polyp Corals help satisfy the majority of the corals nutritional requirements. However, they will benefit from supplemental weekly feedings of micro-plankton and other foods designed for filter-feeding invertebrates especially when housed in reef aquariums that do not contain fishes. For continued good health, the premium maricultured Polyp Corals will also require the addition of iodine, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.
The corals included in the Premium Maricultured Polyp 3 Pack are mounted to a natural "rock-like" plug that can be placed easily and securely in or between rockwork in the reef aquarium.
