Though packaged with the beginner reef aquarists in mind, even the most experienced hobbyists will enjoy the beauty and value of these specimens. The Beginner LPS Coral Pack contains a colorful combination of Candy Cane, Plate and Closed Brain Corals.
The Ideal environment for these species is an established reef aquarium with coral friendly fish and invertebrates. The corals included in this pack will prefer moderate to high lighting of at least 3 watts per gallon using power compact, T-5, or VHO fluorescents, or metal halides. A stable pH of at least 8.1 should be maintained to aid in these species calcification rates. It is important to maintain both the alkalinity and calcium levels along with low phosphates in order to achieve a high pH.
Although all of these corals do receive nutrition from photosynthesis, but will also benefit from feedings of zooplankton a few times per week. Offer ZoPlan, ZooPlex, Coral Plankton, baby brine shrimp, daphnia and other chopped meaty foods that are marine in origin.
