Overview
The Flame Cardinalfish, also known as the Flamefish, is fiery red with light accents of blue and green.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with caves and peaceful tank mates is a good environment for this slow and methodical swimmer. It should not be kept in large groups because of its aggressive behavior towards other Cardinalfish, although it does well in mated pairs. It is a nocturnal fish and may be watched using a red light.
The Flame Cardinalfish requires a well-balanced and vitamin-enriched diet of meaty foods such as feeder shrimp, marine flesh, bloodworms, and depending on its size, live feeder fish.

I bought a trio of these cardinalfish from the Diver's Den. Only one survived the quarantine period I use for new fish, due to fighting. They are very aggressive and should not be sold as trios. Now that the remaining one is in my display, it terrorizes every fish added. I would not recommend this particular cardinalfish and can only hope that I can remove the one I have, so I can continue to stock my new 90 gallon reef aquarium.

OK. I got one of these from the LFS and did not know what it was. It is fine and does not bother anyone. It seems to get along with the red banded pipefish and they hang out together. Seahorse tank with a Royal Gramma, Yellow Goby.
