Overview
The Pink Rose Guppy is one of many unique varieties of fancy guppies (Poecilia reticulata) developed through years of careful selective breeding. The Pink Rose Guppy was bred for its vibrant coloration which can be seen overlaying the silver front half of its body. The punchy pink coloration displayed prominently on the dorsal and caudal (tail) fin as well as the outer edges of the Pink Rose Guppy features varying shades of orange, red, yellow, and purple coloration giving the Pink Rose Guppy a beautifully rich and textured appearance. Thanks to its striking coloration and energetic personality, the Pink Rose Guppy is certain to be a fantastic addition to any freshwater community aquarium or for any freshwater aquarium hobbyist seeking smaller, flashy, and active fish.
The Pink Rose Guppy requires an established aquarium of at least 10 gallons in size. It is a very peaceful fish and should be housed with tankmates of similar temperament. Though the Pink Rose Guppy is a hardy fish tolerant of small changes in aquarium water parameters, care should be taken to keep water parameter as stable as possible. The Pink Rose Guppy makes an excellent fish for beginning hobbyists as it is a hardy and energetic fish that is easy to keep in the freshwater community aquarium.
Guppies are relatively easy to breed even for the beginning aquarists. If you are interested in breeding guppies, the ideal aquarium should have a covering of floating plants and a breeding box to protect the fry. Adults may eat the fry if left to fend for themselves without the added protection provided by the breeding box. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food and pulverized flakes.
The Pink Rose Guppy is an omnivore and requires both algae-based foods as well as meaty foods. An algae-based flake food, along with freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp will provide guppies with the proper nutrition.
