Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral Packs

The LiveAquaria® Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral offers coral collectors and aficionados a convenient way to create a beautiful reef aquarium landscape with diverse species. This hand-picked selection may contain Acropora, Montipora, Porites or other SPS corals. Our packaging crew will hand select these pieces, and we are confident you will be pleased.

The ideal environment for the corals included in the Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral Pack is an established reef aquarium with coral-friendly fish and invertebrates. Provide bright lighting conditions achieved with T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides.

To maximize the growth rate of the corals in your LiveAquaria® Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral Pack, it is imperative to maintain a high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, and to keep phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. If conditions are ideal, these coral frags can eventually be cultured and grown into a new colony from living fragments or broken pieces.

In addition to high lighting conditions and near pristine water quality, corals in the Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral Pack benefit from strong, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This is best accomplished with a wavemaker and multiple powerheads. For continued good health, SPS corals require the addition of calcium, strontium, iodine, magnesium supplements, as well as trace elements.

All of the corals in the LiveAquaria® Premium Aquacultured SPS Coral Pack contain symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within their bodies. This algae provides these corals the majority of their nutritional requirements. However, SPS corals will also benefit from feedings of phytoplankton and zooplankton a few times per week.
