Overview
The Bulgarian Sea Point Angelfish is an elegant and highly sought-after freshwater angelfish variety, prized for its striking contrast and graceful finnage. Its body displays a soft silver to pearl-white coloration, accented by dramatic dark chocolate to black markings on the dorsal, anal, and caudal fins. As the fish matures, the dark "Sea Point" pattern becomes more pronounced, creating a stunning visual contrast that makes this angelfish a standout centerpiece in any freshwater aquarium.
It prefers a well-planted aquarium of at least 30 gallons with soft, slightly acidic water. Driftwood, rockwork, and aquatic plants help create a natural environment, but ample open swimming space should be maintained to accommodate its tall body shape and graceful movements.
When breeding Bulgarian Sea Point Angelfish, it is best to raise a group together and allow pairs to form naturally. Once a compatible pair has bonded, provide a flat spawning surface such as a broad plant leaf, slate, or an angled flowerpot. The female will deposit eggs on the chosen surface, followed by the male fertilizing them. The eggs typically hatch within three days, and the fry become free-swimming several days later. Newly hatched brine shrimp are an excellent first food until the young fish are large enough to accept finely crushed flake foods and other prepared diets.
The Bulgarian Sea Point Angelfish is an omnivore and thrives on a varied diet. Offer a high-quality flake or pellet food as a staple, supplemented with frozen and live foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and other protein-rich offerings. Occasional vegetable-based foods will help provide balanced nutrition and promote optimal health and coloration.
Freshwater Angelfish are measured at TL (Total Length), meaning the fish is measured from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail fin.
