Overview
The Blackfoot Clownfish, also known as the Maldive Anemonefish, is a striking species found exclusively in the Maldives. This vibrant clownfish features a rich orange body accented by a single white headband and bold jet-black pelvic and anal fins, creating dramatic contrast and visual appeal in any marine aquarium.
A member of the Pomacentridae family, Amphiprion nigripes is a hardy and peaceful clownfish ideal for reef aquariums. It can be kept singly, in mated pairs, or in harems when introduced simultaneously. While it does not require a host anemone, it may naturally associate with anemones such as Entacmaea quadricolor or Heteractis crispa.
This species accepts a varied omnivorous diet and will thrive in a well-maintained aquarium of 30 gallons or larger. The Blackfoot Clownfish is suitable for both beginner and experienced hobbyists looking to add a rare, region-specific marine fish to their reef display.
