Overview
The Lemon Butterflyfish, also known as the Milletseed Butterflyfish or Millet Butterflyfish, is mainly yellow with many dark spots on its sides forming vertical stripes. It has a black bar through the eyes and its fins are yellow.
The Lemon Butterflyfish is a good beginner fish that requires plenty of room to swim in a 70 gallon or larger aquarium containing a peaceful community. It may be kept singly or in pairs if introduced into the aquarium at the same time. This species of Butterflyfish is not recommended for the reef aquarium.
Its diet should consist of finely chopped meats such as marine fish, crustacean meat, and mysis shrimp. A vitamin formula with the meats will keep the yellow coloring bright.
