Overview

The Radiata Lionfish, also known as the Clearfin Lionfish, or Tailbar Lionfish, has red, white, and black vertical stripes along the body; large, fan-like pectoral fins; and tall, quill-like dorsal fins.

A 70 gallon or larger aquarium with numerous hiding places is suitable. It will hide while acclimating to its new environment. The top spines are venomous, causing reactions similar to a bee sting. To treat the sting, soak the affected area in hot water (100-114º F).

When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The Radiata Lionfish diet consists of meaty foods such as live shrimp (including ornamental shrimp), live fish, and sometimes, crustacean flesh.

Customer Testimonials

Joey D Carlsbad , CA
I have always been told that this type of lionfish was very hard to keep, doesnt travel well / very hard to convince to eat upon arrival. That is not the case i got this little guy and within 24 hours was eating frozen krill and in the week was taking silversides. Best lionfish i have ever had and he leaves my cleaners alone :) now have had him for over 6 months
