The Ricordea Mushroom Pack makes it simple to adorn any home reef aquarium with diverse color and texture. Ricordea florida mushroom corals are heralded for their bright and highly variable coloration that often change within the aquarium depending on their environment. With this convenient pack you'll receive an assortment of brightly colored Ricordea to quickly transform any drab live rock environment into a colorful reef system.
Best of all, these corals readily adapt to a wide range of lighting conditions. In fact, their colors intensify under fluorescent actinic lighting. However, care should be taken to acclimate these corals to metal halide lighting. For best care, these corals should be placed low in the aquarium until they fully open. Then over a few weeks, gradually move them to the desired location. They also prefer low water movement and adequate space between each specimen and other corals, as they are semi-aggressive. They reproduce by longitudinal fission.
All mushroom corals included are photosynthetic and a majority of their nutritional requirements are obtained from the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within each coral. They also eat plankton and smaller invertebrates, such as crustaceans and brine or mysis shrimp. However, be sure to monitor nutrient levels within your aquarium if you supplement feedings.
Depending on availability, we will include as many different colors of mushrooms as possible. When ordering more than 1 pack, we will do our best to provide a variety of mushrooms to help you create a diverse home reef aquarium.
Ricordea Mushrooms will be shipped on small pieces or chips or rock or gravel and may ship as one single Ricordea Mushroom per rock or multiple Ricordea Mushrooms attached to one rock.
Please note, that when mushroom corals are shipped, it is perfectly normal for them to be deflated and very small upon arrival. Once adjusted to your aquarium conditions, however, they will fully open. The acclimation process normally takes several days to a week.
