Brighten up your pond or water garden with the cheerful and color-changing beauty of the Stan Skinger Water Lily. The addition of this unique tropical water lily is sure to provide a sensational visual experience with its highly ornamental foliage and magnificent blossoms. The Stan Skinger Water Lily is a cross between the tropical waterlily Nymphaea 'Golden West' and the tropical waterlily Nymphaea 'Trail Blazer' and was first released to the trade in 2006. The highly scented bright-yellow blossoms add a charming burst of color for a simple yet dramatic floral presentation that stands out beautifully against a backdrop of decorative mottled-green lily pads.

Interestingly, as the Stan Skinger Water Lily matures, the once yellow blossoms will begin to change to a breath-taking sunset orange coloration. Also, blossoms produce later in the season will be more vibrant in appearance. Typical of tropical water lilies, the lovely cup-shaped flowers of the Stan Skinger Water Lily are held above water for a dramatic presentation. The Stan Skinger Water Lily is a day-blooming tropical water lily well-suited for ponds, water gardens, and container water gardens.

Even when it's not in bloom, the Stan Skinger Water Lily provides fantastic visual interest with its ornamental, saucer-like leaves or "pads." The color of the leaves will vary depending on its age but are typically bright green in coloration with a high degree of maroon mottling that resemble tiger stripes. Typical of tropical water lilies, the Stan Skinger Water Lily produces round leaves with textured edges that are slightly ruffled or even jagged. The leaf spread (or the amount of water surface area covered by the leaves) is high adaptable fitting comfortably in container water gardens and spreading approximately 4 to 5 ft when placed in larger ponds and water gardens to provide shade and shelter for your pond fish, as well as a potential spawning site for pondlife.

The Stan Skinger Water Lily should be potted in a two-gallon or larger planting container. To help your newly potted water lily establish itself faster in your pond, place the water lily at an initial depth of six inches below the water surface. As the water lily grows, it can be gradually lowered to its ideal depth of 12-18 inches below the water surface. Place your Stan Skinger Water Lily in a sunny location where it will receive up to six or more hours of direct sunlight. Zones 9-11.
