Overview

The LiveAquaria® Summer Edition Aquacultured Coral Frag Pack (Various sp.), offers hobbyists a way to enhance their reef aquarium with a collection of premium coral frag specimens. Adding visual interest and beauty to your home aquarium in bright summer colors, they have a moderate care level. All three of these corals benefit from moderate to high lighting and a medium waterflow.

Live corals are important contributors to the structure of a saltwater reef in nature as well as in reef aquariums. Our Certified Captive Grown Corals are grown by our dedicated Wisconsin staff at our own LiveAquaria® facility. We are committed to providing healthy and attractive alternatives to wild caught specimens, so as not to contribute to the world’s declining coral reefs. Aquacultured corals are also acclimated to home aquariums.

For continued good health, these corals will require the addition of supplemental calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. Recommended water parameters are a temperature between 72°-78° F, calcium harness 8-12 dKH, pH levels between 8.1-8.4, and a salinity range of sg 1.022-1.025.

Included in this premium 3-pack are:

Pipe Organ Coral (Tubipora musica)
The incredible variety of this species of Pipe Organ Coral boasts a soothing color scheme and a gorgeous floral appearance. It has a tight, well behaved growth habit that will not spread aggressively across the rocks and potentially crowd neighboring corals. Medium waterflow in the home aquarium will give this coral movement, adding additional interest.

The LiveAquaria® CCGC Aquacultured Pipe Organ Coral is mounted on a small ceramic plug that can be placed easily and securely in or between the rockwork in the reef aquarium.

Photosynthetic Plating Red Sponge (Collospongia sp.)
The aquacultured Photosynthetic Plating Red Sponge is the perfect choice for coral collectors because it is both unusual and beautiful. It presents in a gorgeous red coloration with an iridescent metallic sheen. This ornamental sponge demonstrates a growth habit reminiscent of plating Montipora coral that adds unique structure and character for a one-of-a-kind display. It should not be exposed to air and be placed in an area with room to expand due to its fast growth.

The Aquacultured Photosynthetic Plating Red Sponge is mounted on a porous block or ceramic disk that can be placed easily and securely in or between the rockwork in the reef aquarium.

Orange Stripe Glove Coral (Clavularia sp.)
The Orange Stripe Glove polyp will add immediate interest and color to your home aquarium. A multi-colored specimen, its most distinctive quality are the orange tips displaying from the middle to tip of its feathery branches that contrast with its neon green center that makes a spectacular display when open. They enjoy moderate lighting so should be placed in the top to middle level of your home aquarium with a medium waterflow and away from other coral.

Satisfying the majority of their nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within their bodies, these corals will also benefit from occasional broadcast feeding in the form of micro-plankton or foods designed for corals.

Hobbyists who use our LiveAquaria® Professional Reef Salt have the added benefit knowing marine species shipped from our Wisconsin Facility share the same water parameters and will acclimate and transition to your home aquarium with less stress to set the foundation for longer term success.
