Overview

The Ultra Chalice Coral is a fabulous variety of highly desirable LPS (large polyp stony) coral boasting many different stimulating and exciting color combinations. Thanks to its exquisite coloration and fantastic encrusting and architectural growth habit, the addition of the Ultra Chalice Coral is sure to inject remarkable visual interest to your reef aquarium landscape.

The Ultra Chalice Coral is a hardy and fast growing large polyp stony LPS coral demonstrating a thin, plating growth form. The Ultra Chalice Coral requires low to moderate lighting achieved by T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides combined with medium to strong water movement within the aquarium. Keep in mind the Ultra Chalice Coral can produce sweeper tentacles that can harm more docile corals and invertebrates. Be sure to provide sufficient space between the Ultra Chalice Coral and other corals because of its semi-aggressive temperament.

The Ultra Chalice Coral satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. However, it will benefit from supplemental feedings in the form of micro-plankton or baby brine, fed twice per week in the evening while its tentacles are visible. For continued good health, the Ultra Chalice Coral benefits from the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water column.
