The Wild Green Discus is spectacularly-colored varieties of prized Discus fish. The interplay between the vibrant green and sunset orange body coloration of the Green Discus, exudes a warm, energetic glow that is at once soothing and vibrant. Adding even greater visual excitement, The Green Discus also boasts an eye-catching freckling of crimson that elevates the to a level of unrivalled beauty.

The Green Discus, like other Discus requires specific water conditions. Pay particular attention to parameters including pH, hardness and water temperature to ensure best care for the Green Discus. A warm, acidic environment with little or no hardness is essential to properly house the Green Discus. Provide a well-filtered, established aquarium of at least 50 gallons aquascaped with driftwood and several dense plant groups scattered around the aquarium. Be sure to maintain open swimming spaces for the Green Discus. Include floating plants to create areas of low or subdued lighting.

The Green Discus becomes slightly territorial during breeding. It is best to breed an established pair, or maintain a group of young Discus and allow them to pair themselves. Warm, soft, slightly acidic water is required for spawning. The pair will clean a flat surface (usually a broad leaf or the side of the aquarium) prior to spawning. The parents must not be removed from the fry; the fry feed on their parents' mucus.

Largely carnivorous, the Green Discus prefers freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex, pellet food designed for Discus, high-quality flake food, and meaty frozen foods.
