About Biota

Biota Aquariums began in 2014 in Palau, a small archipelago in the Pacific Ocean that is one of the world’s largest marine reserves.

Biota is aimed at leaving the ocean in a better state than they found it. Their marine life is sustainably cultured in captivity and undergoes a thorough acclimation and conditioning process before leaving their facility, ensuring that the fish, invertebrates and corals are healthy, resilient and ready for aquarium life.

Biota’s philosophy is to give back to the ocean and take nothing from it, and in line with that mission, for every fish you buy Biota will release two into the ocean. They are currently stocking valuable food fish into the waters of Palau, helping to replenish depleted populations.
