overviewThe Yellow Longwood, or Canna glauca, is a hybrid of the Canna americanallis. This hybrid is native to Brazil and offers many cultivars. The Yellow Longwood is known for its long blooming season and superior performance in water gardens.
Cannas resemble banana trees without the trunk, and are highly prized for their beautiful flowers. The Yellow Longwood has blue-green, arrow-shaped foliage with thin creamy edges that offset elegant, pale yellow flowers.
Cannas have propagated in wetlands throughout the subtropical and tropical world. The Yellow Longwood prefers moist soil and will thrive even in marshy conditions. It may be grown in dryer soils, but will need regular watering to keep the water level up. Cannas look best when planted in clumps.
The Yellow Longwood reaches 5 feet in height with a spread of 36". They prefer up to 8" of water depth. Zones 9-11.
