overviewThe Spider Lily is a beautiful pond plant with fragrant star-shaped blooms native to the southern United States. They produce long, strap-like, deeply grooved leaves that grow up to 18" in length. Strong, leafless stems produce clusters of white, spidery flowers from early spring into summer. Each stem may produce up to 10 flowers.
Spider Lilies should be planted in rich soil in 2-gallon containers, and may have up to 6 inches of water over their crown. Once planted, place in sun to partial shade. If planted in moist marshy conditions, it may form a colony with its runners. Spider Lilies may reach up to 24" high with a spread of 12". Divide clumps after flowering or start from seed in warm water. In northern zones, winter indoors as a houseplant. Zones 7-11.
