Overview

The Dragon Sea Moth, also known as the Little Dragonfish, is a master of camouflage with earthy colorations that allow it to blend into its usual environment of sand, coral gravel, and mud bottoms. Over time, it will adjust its colors to blend in with its environment. They regularly shed their skin in a single piece in an effort to rid themselves of offensive organisms.

The Dragon Sea Moth is a bottom dweller and requires an aquarium with little to no rockwork and a live sand substrate. They are slow and methodical feeders and will only eat food that is lying on the substrate. Their ideal tankmates include seahorses, pipefishes, gobies, and dragonets.

Their diet consists of amphipods, copepods, isopods, and live brine and mysis shrimp. They will also eat polychaetes, nematodes, and trematodes.

Customer Testimonials

David C Morristown , TN
I ordered a Dragon Sea Moth and it is the neatest little creature that I have saw since the Green Mandarinfish. I added it in my cooler salt water aquarium with my seahorses, mandarins, and golbies. They get along fine and thrive well on live mysis and brine shrimp that I hatch. They also love the copepods that I raise in my refugium. I keep my water at 1.026 just in case of that water fluctuation so I can add fresh water if needed. Keeping a log of the water parameters allows me to obtain the better invironment for them all. They are awesome! Thus far everything that I have ordered from LiveAquaria have arrived in perfect condition and lives well. I would recommend them to anyone who has the salt/freshwater hobby. Keeping the tank by the conditions they describe with the fish has been and worked great for me. Thanks guys!
