Our Aquatic Experts have designed the Premium Reef Cleaner Packs specifically for mature reef aquariums with consistently low nutrient levels and very little algae. The invertebrates in these packs are a hardy, easy-to-care-for mixture of herbivores, omnivores and detritivores - all proven to be very effective in minimizing your reef aquarium's nutrient level.
The Super Tongan Nassarius and Cerith snails included in each pack are very beneficial. They sift through the sand and consume detritus, uneaten food, and decaying matter, breaking them down before they decay any further (effectively removing them from the nitrogen cycle). In addition, these snails are quite entertaining, as they appear to "burst" out of the sand at feeding time.
Even the most balanced reef aquariums show some amount of algae growth. The Banded Trochus Snails (or Turban Snails) and Scarlet Reef Hermit crabs in our Premium Reef Cleaner Packs feed upon algae and reduce the amount of work involved in cleaning the glass and rocks. Both of these invertebrates remain small and rarely disturb rocks and corals. Plus, Banded Trochus snails often breed in the aquarium, replenishing their numbers over time.
Our Aquatic Experts have studied these invertebrates extensively, and have formulated our new Premium Packs with ratios of inhabitants proven to be effective in reef aquariums with little or no algae problems. Be sure to choose a pack suited to your aquarium size. If your aquarium contains larger amounts of algae, we recommend choosing a pack one size larger than your actual aquarium size.
