Large Size Fiji Premium Live Rock is the highest grade of Fiji rock available. We are able to provide the freshest and most colorful live rock available anywhere, because this rock is flown in directly from Fiji on a weekly basis.
Fiji Premium rock is a dense rock, with the average size of the Large rock is between 10 and 20 inches. The recommended amount of Live Rock for an aquarium is 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 pounds per gallon, which will create a beautiful aquascape, and add the biodiversity that many enthusiasts demand in their mini ecosystem. For aquascaping, it is acceptable to alter the shapes and sizes of the rock with a hammer and chisel. This will not damage the integrity of the rock, nor it's inhabitants. This type of live rock is composed of very porous calcium carbonate. Under proper lighting conditions, exposed areas of the live rock will become covered in mostly purple coralline algae. Fiji Premium Rock is mainly oval or round in shape, and makes a great foundation rock for any marine aquarium.
Fiji Premium Rock is beneficial for both reef aquariums and fish-only tanks. Live rock will provide a natural food source for some fish, aid in the breakdown of waste produced by aquarium inhabitants, and create a foundation for live corals or decorations in a fish-only aquarium. Many beneficial life forms such as plants, worms, sponges, starfish, crustaceans, and mollusks will appear after several months in the aquarium.
Fiji Premium Rock is easy to maintain in the aquarium, and makes an excellent candidate for the beginner to the expert aquarist. This type of rock requires moderate lighting and moderate water movement, along with the addition of calcium, strontium, iodine, and trace elements.
It is imperative to cure the rock again upon receipt, before it is placed in the display aquarium that contains fish, coral, or inverts.
Orders of large and show rock may take up to one week to fill.
ARRIVAL - When first received, this rock will vary in coloration, shape and
size. The different micro fauna may not be very visible at first, but are
deep inside the crevices of the rock.
CURING - During the curing process, some die off will normally occur, and
the rock may be scrubbed to remove these areas. When cured in a separate
container, it is common for the coralline algae to start to turn white.
Frequent water changes will help to reduce the stress on the life inside the
crevices of the rock.
ESTABLISHED - Once cured, maintained under the proper lighting, and
supplemented with buffers and calcium, this rock will regain its diversity
of bright colored coralline algae, and many beneficial life forms will begin
to appear and populate the display aquarium.

Well, I have had this terrific rock for several weeks now, and it and your live sand helped my tank to cycle very quickly. I could not have hand picked more beautiful pieces, and I am now getting a lovely growth of purple coraline algea on the rock. All ready to introduce the first critters. Thanks!
I just got my shippment of Premium Figi rock, show and large size, and the rock is just beautiful. I could not have selected better if I had picked each piece myself. I am using the rock and some Foster and Smith live sand to cycle my newest 120 gallon reef tank. Ammonia level is already on the rise, water changes going, and I am thinking I will be fully cycled in less than 2 weeks. Once again, Foster and Smith and Live Aquaria provide awesome service!
