overviewThe Cloudy Damselfish is an uncommon variant of one of the most popular aquarium species. Like other Damselfish, Dascyllus carneus is perfect for beginners because they are easy to keep and acclimate well to the home aquarium. Subdued colors let bluish iridescent dots on each scale and hints of yellow along the body reveal themselves to the careful eye.
In its natural habitat, the Cloudy Damselfish is associated with branching corals on in- and offshore reefs, congregating in small schools to feed on plankton. At home, a 30-gallon or larger aquarium is suitable with plenty of hiding places. Due to its aggressive behavior as an adult, it will do well with other aggressive fish in a community tank. It will not harm invertebrates or disturb the tank setting.
